“What is it you thirst for?”
An ongoing and often site-specific work, the slippery ceremony aims to connect us to the wet stuff inside and outside of us.
Drawing from hydrofeminism, clowning and collective mythmaking, the work invites participants to tap into their own internal tides – unclogging, submerging and dissolving the boundaries between self and surrounding bodies of wetness.
Playfully drowning us in an infinite pooling of oceanic mythologies and spa-side desires, The Wetness unfolds through participatory rituals, immersive encounters, and surreal performance. Previous site-specific editions have included an office building turned into a Wetness Centre, hotel rooms, nightclub dancefloor, gay sauna and a boat.
The work involves a team of inter-disciplinary artists, working together to see how deep The Wetness can go. With 2025 presentations at The Blue Room Theatre’s Summer Nights (off-site immersive performance – nominated for 2 x PAWA Awards), Fremantle Biennale’s Room Service and 2026 season at FRINGE WORLD (Winner – Sydney Fringe Tour-Ready Award).
